DataGrabber UPDATE – Mar. 10, 2011

Greetings DataGrabbers,

I have a funny (& true!) story to brighten your day.  I have a son in a small pre-school.  For the longest time, he talked about this new person at his school, Mrs. Bella.  My wife and I weren’t aware of any new teacher at the school let alone his class.  When we confirmed there was no Mrs. Bella, our son was emphatic that there was!.  It was Mrs. Bella this and Mrs. Bella that.  We thought maybe it was imaginary play.  Alas!  We figured out the mystery.  One day I was running late picking him up from pre-school.  I saw him talking to another pint-size student I hadn’t seen before.  When we left I asked him who he was talking to.  And he answered excitedly, “Mrs. Bella!”.  Then it dawned on me… Mrs. Bella is “Isa-Bella” a new student in the school.  My wife and I had a good laugh at that one!  I guess the lesson there is not to dismiss things you can’t fully explain!   An explanation will emerge if given enough time.   My weak segue way to DataGrabbers is directed at all the new folks having trouble finding solution charts, tips pages, or other information they are looking for.  Instead of emailing me, just explore the site, look at the forums, click the links in the navigation menu and you’ll find all the information is readily and easily available!  🙂

So where are we at now?  Well, DataGrabbers.org is continually being updated thanks to the tremendous efforts of the volunteer team consolidating and quality-controlling the submissions.  We are currently the #1 source for The Price Is Right info, Wheel of Fortune, and almost the #1 for Family Feud.  As we add more and more data, the work load gets higher and harder.  But it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to provide access to and host the plethora of content that we offer on Facebook games.  We are continuously looking at ways to expand even further.  While we may feature a variety of articles, resources and other distractions, we never lose sight of the main focus: clear, complete, accessible raw content.

I still consider the Wheel of Fortune section “new” since it’s not even a month old yet – and thanks to some awesome contributors, we are at over 850 entries and counting!  That is a tremendous achievement for raw data noting and sharing in such a short window.  If you haven’t checked it out yet, take a look at the Facebook Wheel of Fortune Puzzle Answers here.

Finally, I’ll never stop thanking the hard work and dedication of our volunteers –  you guys and gals make the site special and more and more relevant each day.  Thank you *sending my love*…

In a nutshell:

• The DataGrabber Forum will probably have hit 1000 members by the time you read this.  That’s awesome!  The majority of members are data contributors.  But I do encourage all members to continue to share their tips, tricks, general discussion items, experiences, complaints, suggestions, whatever’s on your mind!  Not just data submissions, please!  🙂  The Forum is my favourite part of the site and I totally think it could get even better!
• This update as well as other emails from our VIP Newsletter series will be sent out to over 3500 opt-in email members and growing!  Over 90% of the emails sent are pure useful content/information/tips etc. with no commercial or ad content whatsoever.  While occasionally, I will promote special offers (or run them directly), the vast majority of content is juicy info stuff.  And of course the email list itself is NEVER shared, sold, or used by ANY third parties.  I guard it with my life!
• The Plinko-Clone physcial game promotion I was running is over.  The quota has been reached.  To all those who ordered the game, you will be receiving it in 4-6 weeks.  Note:  This was only offered to members of the VIP Email Newsletter Opt-In.  But don’t worry, there will be more exciting deals and fun group offers to come!  And if you haven’t signup for our emails yet, do it now!  Go to www.datagrabber.org and sign up on the right-hand side.
• It was a crime for DataGrabber.org to profile a bunch of Facebook games and NOT include Farmville in the bunch.  We corrected that today.  Check out the new Farmville Tips and Strategies sections.  You’ll also see some handy Farmville cheat charts that should help your game big time! Enjoy!
• The Price Is Right data lists underwent another major update!  Great work, Price. 🙂
• The Family Feud answers lists were getting so big that members were complaining about loading speed during gameplay.  As a result, I’ve split out the Family Feud charts into separate charts for: 1) Three Answer Questions, 2) Four Answer Questions, 3) Five Answer Questions, 4) Six/Seven Answer Questions.   Hopefully that helps make the data quicker to access.  The Fast Money section remains unchanged (just updated regularly).
